I know a lot of my readers enjoy my Meltdowns and I also love to write them. So I’m excited to bring to you a special edition of Weekend Meltdown. This one may be a little more serious than my usual Meltdowns but it’s what’s been going down these past few days. So here we go!
-The air here in Dallas smells so clean. The Texans don’t think it smells clean though.
-”Churches die because they are afraid of change.” -Randy Draper
-Be positive. You’re not being realistic, you’re being negative. Realistically we live in a negative environment. -Randy Draper
-It takes teamwork to make the dream work.” -John Maxwell
-The person you don’t like is God’s heavenly sandpaper. He put them in your life to rub off your rough edges. -Randy Draper
-”Our methods will change, but the message must stay the same.” -Ed Young
-My attitude toward F1 influences the way others respond to the system. I’ve dropped the ball and I’ve gotta pick it back up.
-Coming soon! Fellowship Champion Team (not just a single Fellowship Champion) and F1 Data Integrity Team (DIT). I’m fired up about getting these teams together.
-”What can I do today so that the church won’t need me tomorrow?”
-Data matters because People matter.
-I’m homesick… I miss my dog. Just kidding… I miss you guys too. But seriously, I miss my dog Courage.
-”Remember the high cost of living low.” -Ed Young
-Ed Young is an excellent communicator AND an excellent artist. Who knew?
-Fellowship Church did an amazing job welcoming me. It was my first time visiting the church but I didn’t feel weird or out of place. Kudos!
-The HD video at Fellowship was ridiculous. I was sitting 4th row center (really close) but I caught myself watching the screens more than the physical Ed Young.
-Diana and I got pulled over by a Grapevine popo for speeding today (opps). He gave us a warning AND directions to Fellowship. He was so nice.
-I was just blown away by the friendliness and kindness of these Texans.
-Best part of the conference? Networking and meeting really cool people from all around the country (and a really sweet lady from LifeChurch.tv England). Collaboration at it’s best.
-Props to the people at F1. They were SO nice and helpful.
-It was so cool being able to come together as the Church and remember that we’re all after the same thing. Technology is just a tool to help people come to Christ.
-I was so proud to have Flamingo Road Church printed on my tag. So many people asked me about the stuff we’re doing back home. Everything from Beach Baptism to the Internet Campus to allowing coffee in the auditorium. It was really my first time representing FRC like that and having questions thrown at me. I can’t believe God’s called me to be a part of this movement. It was a humbling experience.
-Everything closes so early over here. If I want an ice cream at 9:00pm I should be able to have one!
-Where’s my gym accountability team? Monday right?!
-Heard service at FRC this weekend is crazy good (better than frozen Pop-Tarts). I can’t wait to catch a service tomorrow.
-My hotel room smells like Batman’s retirement home. It’s like a mixture of damp cave and old people.
